BPJPH (Halal Product Guarantee Administering Agency) is a government institution that has the authority to officially issue halal certificates in Indonesia since 2019. MUI (Indonesian Ulema Council) acts as a Halal Inspection Institution (LPH) which carries out technical audits and inspections before BPJPH issues certificates. Halal certification audits must be carried out on-site (directly at the location). A team of auditors will come directly to the production facility to verify raw materials, processes, equipment and overall SJPH implementation to ensure halal standards are met.
